Zhang Taisu is an associate professor at Yale Law School. His PhD in history, his JD, and his bachelor's degrees were all obtained from Yale University. He is currently a member of the Global Faculty of Peking University Law School and Jones Day Fellow of Peking University Law School. He has taught at Duke Law School and Brown University History Department. His main research interests are comparative law and economic history, followed by property rights theory and the Chinese judicial system. His academic achievements include the monograph "The Law and Economy of Confucianism: A Comparison between Chinese and British Families and the Property Rights System in the Pre-industrial Period" (Cambridge University Press, 2017) and several journal papers. prize. He is currently the chairman of the International Society of Law and History of China.
