Wang Weichen

Wang Weichen, Doctor of Laws degree from East China University of Political Science and Law, Deputy Dean and Associate Professor of Law School of Shanghai International Studies University, mainly engages in the research of legal anthropology and comparative legal culture.

He has published several monographs, such as The Dilemma in Legal Anthropology: The Controversy between Gluckman and BohannanThe Origin of Legal Civilization, The Oxford Handbook of the History of International Law (Chinese Edition) and other co-authored and translated books. He has published more than 50 papers and translations in journals such as Ethno-National Studies and The Jurist.

He has won the first ‘Zeng Xianyi Legal History Scholarship’ Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, the second prize of the 12th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award, and the second prize of the Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award.

Currently, he is co-hosting‘The reading program of classic works of legal anthropology, which is dedicated to sorting out the knowledge pedigree of legal anthropology more completely.
