【内容提要】

A number of unifying principles influence the legal rules that govern economic conduct. These rules have changed over the last forty years, and the Court's jurisprudence has changed with them. The changes are not just matters of "conservative" judges replacing "liberal" ones, or the reverse; there has been a substantial change in how all the Justices perceive economic issues. The Justices today are more sophisticated in economic reasoning, and they apply it in a more thoroughgoing way, than at any other time in our history.
