 The idea of dealing with legal concepts and doctrine from a sociological point of view has been vaguely familiar to at least two generations of sociologists and legal scholars. In this country, the premises of sociological jurisprudence achieved a rather quick and general victory,helped along by a pragmatic temper,an impatience with abstracions,and a setting of rapid social change.
