The Second Yangtze River Delta "Law and Society" Youth Workshop(Hangzhou) Call for Papers

The Yangtze River Delta "Law and Society" Youth Workshop aims to bring together outstanding young researchers in the Yangtze River Delta region to discuss cutting-edge issues in the field of "law and society", promote the in-depth integration of theory and practice, and provide a platform for young researchers to communicate and carry out in-depth academic dialogues.

Hosted by Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School the Chinese Institute for social-legal studies Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Law Society Sociology Research Association, The Second Yangtze River Delta "Law and Society" Youth Workshop is scheduled to be held in Hangzhou in May this year. We are now soliciting submissions and sincerely invite you to participate.


1. Theme of the Call for Papers

The theme of this workshop is "Law and Society in the Digital Age", which covers but is not limited to the following directions:

1.1 Legal construction of digital country 

The state theory in the digital age, the rule of law challenges in the construction of digital countries, and the path of rule of law construction in digital countries, etc. 

1.2 Trial methods of Internet courts 

The construction and prospect of Internet courts, the effectiveness of Internet court construction, the characteristics of the times of Internet court trials, the operation mode and challenges of Internet courts, the impact of Internet technology on justice, Internet courts and digital governance, Internet court litigation rules, Internet court litigation system and its reform, etc. 

1.3 Market and Smart Administration 

The wisdom of administrative management, the development of administrative law in the digital age, and the new problems of administrative law enforcement in smart cities, etc. 

1.4 Digital governance of grassroots society 

The digitization of grassroots social governance, the digital empowerment of grassroots social governance, the era value and challenges of grassroots social digital governance, the digitization of grassroots social grid governance, the court operation and judicial governance trend in the digital era, etc. 

1.5 Sociological theory of digital law 

The theoretical pedigree of digital sociology of law, the theoretical face of digital sociology of law, the context and significance of digital sociology of law, etc.

1.6 Legal protection of new productivity 

The intellectual property law of new quality productivity, the construction of the legal system of new quality productivity, the legal problems and overcoming of new quality productivity, etc. 

1.7 Law and cognitive science 

Law and cognitive science in the digital age, law and cognitive science research in the context of contemporary China, and the research paradigm of law and cognitive science, etc. 

1.8 Legal big language model and its judicial application 

The technical principle of the legal big language model, the judicial application and challenges of the legal big language model, and the regulation of the judicial application of the legal big language model, etc. 

1.9 Interpretability of judicial artificial intelligence 

The problem of interpretability of judicial artificial intelligence, the requirements of judicial field for interpretable artificial intelligence, the research on the prediction method of interpretable judicial judgment, the research on the judicial application of artificial intelligence, etc. 

1.10 Scenario-based algorithmic regulation theory 

Scenarios of algorithm regulation, algorithm decision-making risk and its legal regulation, platform algorithm and legal regulation, legal regulation of algorithm discrimination, etc. 

1.11 The legal normative system of digital identity 

The construction of citizenship in the digital age, the legal problems of digital identity and its normative response, the legal protection of biometric information, the legal rules of digital citizenship construction, etc.

1.12 Fengqiao Experience in the Digital Age 

How to develop the experience of Fengqiao in the digital age, the rule of law principle of digital Fengqiao, the digital innovation of Fengqiao experience, etc.


2. Submission Object

This solicitation is aimed at graduate students ( including masters and doctors ) and young scholars in the Yangtze River Delta region ( including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui ).


3. Requirements

1) The manuscript should be an unpublished original work, with a clear theme, unique views, rigorous logic, and fluent language.

2) The manuscript should conform to academic norms, and the source of the cited literature should be indicated, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

3) In principle, the length of the manuscript should not be less than 10,000 words in Chinese and 7000 words in English, and the format should be in word format.

4)Please indicate the author's name, affiliation, contact information and other relevant information in the manuscript.


4. Submission method and deadline

2) Deadline: April 30, 2025.


5. Review and Announcement

1) We will organize a review committee to conduct anonymous review of all submissions in a timely manner to ensure fairness and impartiality.

2) Shortlisted manuscripts will be published on the official website of the China Academy of Law and Society and WeChat official account.

3)The Workshop Organizing Committee will send invitation letters to the shortlisted authors to participate in the on-site exchange activities of the workshop.

4) Selected papers can be recommended to relevant journals for publication and published in a collection.

5)The workshop is scheduled to be held in Hangzhou in May 2025,specific locations will be notified separately.


6. Precautions

1) All submissions will not be returned, and authors are requested to keep their own manuscripts.

2) The Workshop Organizing Committee will conduct a preliminary screening after receiving the submissions, and no replies will be made if they do not meet the requirements. If you have any questions, please contact the organizing committee before submission.

3)There is no conference fee, and guests are responsible for their own transportation, accommodation and expenses.

4) The Workshop Organizing Committee reserves the right of final interpretation of this call for papers.
