CCF Computational Law Symposium and Third Annual Conference
“CCF Computational Law Symposium and Third Annual Conference”, hosted by China Computer Federation (CCF), will be held on 25-26 October 2024 in Weihai, Shandong Province. With the theme of "Computational Law and the Modernisation of China's Governance", the conference aims to promote academic exchanges and industries-universities-research cooperation in the field of computational legal studies, as well as to present the latest research results and cutting-edge research progress in this field. We welcome experts, scholars and researchers at home and abroad to contribute to the conference.
Computational law is a new discipline at the cross-point of legal and computer science. In the past two years, CCF Computational Law Section has held its annual conference in Sichuan University and Tsinghua University, attracted hundreds of contributions from domestic and foreign experts and young scholars, and organized dozens of keynote speeches and presentations, which has formed a strong academic influence and brand effect.
This year's annual conference will be held at Shandong University. The conference is hosted by CCF, organised by CCF CL, Shandong University Weihai Campus, Shandong University Data Science Institute, Shandong University School of Law (Weihai), Shandong Research Centre for Systemic and Computational Law Studies山东系统与计算法学研究中心,下同, and co-organised by editorial departments of Law Forum, Journal of Shandong University (Philosophy and Social Science), Asian Journal of Law and Society, SJTU Law Review, Chinese Empirical Legal Research中国法律实证研究,下同, Cyber Security and Data Governance, Social Science in Guangdong, Huxiang Law Review.
The conference will invite top experts and scholars in the fields of legal and computer and related industry applications to make invited reports, and open sub-forums according to the topics for scholars at home and abroad to have academic exchanges and discussions. The conference sincerely invites experts and scholars in related fields to actively contribute to the conference.

II. Theme
This year's Computational Law Studies Conference, with the theme "Computational Law and the Modernisation of China's Governance", will be divided into two sections: the main forum and the sub-forums, which will be based on the official agenda. Essay including but not limited to the following topics:
1.Basic theory and current practice of computational legal studies.
2.Generative AI such as Sora and the development of computational legal studies.
3.Theoretical analysis, practical considerations and international comparisons of AI governance.
4.Science and technology for the modernisation of national governance
5.Reliable computation and causal inference from the perspective of computational legal studies

IV. Paper Submission
All speakers, except invited guests, are required to submit papers. Papers should be original to the authors and have not been published in domestic and international journals, and the language can be Chinese or English.
The deadline for submission is 13 September 2024, and notification of acceptance will be sent out before 23 September 2024. The organizing committee will accept submissions and can be contacted at: computational_law@sdu.edu.cn
To facilitate the compilation, please refer to the following specifications for the participating papers:
1.The home page of the paper, please use footnotes to indicate the author's name, unit, title, email, contact phone, etc. The paper is submitted in word form.
2.The main title of the paper in Chinese is unified into 18, SimSun, the paper text is uniformly12, SimSun, 0 lines before and after the paragraph, line spacing 1.15 times.
3.The whole text does not distinguish between notes and references; automatically generated by word each page footnotes, each page renumbered. Use the full term when quoting multiple times in the same literature, without reference or any abbreviation.
4. Please refer to the relevant norms of the Manual of Legal Citation for the specific format of Chinese papers, and follow the corresponding academic norms for English papers and keep the format uniform.
5. The accepted papers will be included in Third CCF CL Annual Conference Proceedings, the collection is only used by the conference, not published publicly; the excellent papers selected by the conference will be recommended to be published in the Law Forum, Journal of Shandong University (Philosophy and Social Science), Asian Journal of Law and Society, SJTU Law Review, Chinese Empirical Legal Research, Cyber Security and Data Governance, Social Science in Guangdong, Huxiang Law Review and other journals. (Note: The recommended papers will be reviewed twice by the journals, and the journals will finally decide the acceptance.)
6. If the authors have no special instructions, the selected papers will be published in the computational law series by the CCF CL.
V. Conference Registration and Fees
In accordance with the requirements of the China Computer Federation, this annual conference uses the CCF conference system to register for the conference. Participants should visit the website to register and pay for the conference before 8 October.

A fee will be charged for this conference (except for special guests), CCF members 480/per, non-CCF members 600/per. The conference fee implements the relevant provisions of the CCF. If a paper is accepted as a speaker, the conference organiser will bear part of the accommodation and food during the conference, and the travel expenses will be taken care of. Other guests will be responsible for their own round-trip transport and accommodation costs, and the conference organiser will be responsible for arranging catering during the conference.
