We sincerely invite you to participate in the call for papers for the Yangtze River Delta "Law and Society" Youth Workshop. Hosted by the Chinese Institute for social-legal studies Shanghai Jiao Tong University, this workshop aims to bring together outstanding young researchers in the Yangtze River Delta region to discuss cutting-edge issues in the field of "law and society", promote the in-depth integration of theory and practice, and provide a platform for young researchers to communicate and carry out in-depth academic dialogues.
1. Theme of the Call for Papers
The theme of this workshop is "Law and Society", which covers but is not limited to the following directions:
1)Social Grassroots Governance and Rule of Law (Social Grassroots Governance and Pluralistic Legal System, Social Organizations' Participation in Grassroots Governance, Legal Services in the Construction of Grassroots Rule of Law, Multiple Dispute Resolution Mechanisms for Community Disputes, Combination of Grassroots Rule of Law and Information Technology, etc.)
2)Judicial Theory and Practice (Contemporary Frontier Judicial System Theory, Innovation of Judicial Dispute Settlement Mechanism, International Judicial System, Application of Digital Technology in Judicial Practice, etc.)
3)Qualitative or quantitative empirical research in law (qualitative or quantitative research in sociology of law, qualitative or quantitative research in law and economics, qualitative or quantitative research in legal and political science, qualitative or quantitative research in legal anthropology, etc.)
4) The intersection of law and technology (data privacy and legal protection, smart contracts and legal liability, the application of artificial intelligence in justice, digital identity and legal recognition, the challenge of technological innovation to intellectual property law, etc.)
5) Other topics on the interaction between law and society (relational jurisprudence, relational contract theory, the interaction between law and social networks in the era of social media, the shaping of legal cognition and behavior by online communities, the dissemination and influence of legal information in social networks, the integration and conflict of law and culture in the era of globalization, social network analysis as a new method of legal empirical research, etc.)
2. Submission Object
This call for papers is open to graduate students (including master's and doctoral students), young scholars, legal practitioners, and others interested in the field of law and society in the Yangtze River Delta region (including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui).
3. Requirements
1) The manuscript should be an unpublished original work, with a clear theme, unique views, rigorous logic, and fluent language.
2) The manuscript should conform to academic norms, and the source of the cited literature should be indicated, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
3) In principle, the length of the manuscript should not be less than 10,000 words in Chinese and 7000 words in English, and the format should be in word format.
4)Please indicate the author's name, affiliation, contact information and other relevant information in the manuscript.
4. Submission method and deadline
1)Please send the manuscript to the Workshop Organizing Committee: cislssjtu@163.com.
2) Deadline: March 15, 2024.
5. Review and Announcement
1) We will organize a review committee to conduct anonymous review of all submissions in a timely manner to ensure fairness and impartiality.
2) Shortlisted manuscripts will be published on the official website of the China Academy of Law and Society and WeChat official account.
3)The Workshop Organizing Committee will send invitation letters to the shortlisted authors to participate in the on-site exchange activities of the workshop.
4) Selected papers can be recommended to relevant journals for publication and published in a collection.
5)The first workshop is scheduled to be held in April 2024.
6. Precautions
1) All submissions will not be returned, and authors are requested to keep their own manuscripts.
2) The Workshop Organizing Committee reserves the right of final interpretation of this call for papers.
3) The Workshop Organizing Committee will conduct a preliminary screening after receiving the submissions, and no replies will be made if they do not meet the requirements. If you have any questions, please contact the organizing committee before submission.
